At the 2017 GKR World Cup, the Flag system for Judging Kata shall be implemented for all grades. This is the first time a World Cup has used this system for all divisions.

Check out the video below which shows the procedure for Bowing into the division and a few pieces of information that may help you.

Guinness World Record Update

The deadline for registering to be a part of our historic Guinness World Record attempt is not far away!  If you’re heading to the World Cup, don’t be left on the sideline on Sunday August 6th watching history, register here  to be a part of it!

The record for “most people breaking pine boards simultaneously in a single location” stands at 204 and we know that we can smash this with your help!  If you can’t be there on the day, you can also sponsor a board   with all proceeds going to the Chris O’brien Lifehouse.  So get on board, or sponsor a board and secure your place in history!

Competitor Jackets

If you haven’t ordered your competitor jacket yet, there is still time to order yours and have it ready for collection at the venue on Friday 4th August, ready for the official World Cup parade the next morning.  Order yours here  before July 1st to avoid disappointment.

Best of luck to all competitors and we shall see you in the Gold Coast, Australia this August!
