Here at GKR Karate we’re starting to get really excited, because the clock is ticking and the countdown is on to the 2017 GKR Karate World Cup!

Here’s what you need to know:

The biggest event in the GKR calendar is less than 3 months away so it’s time to book your place and start the build up to what we hope will be the biggest and best World Cup so far. Competitor qualification details can be found ‘here’.

Guinness World Record Attempt

This year, for the first time ever, we are attempting to break a Guinness World Record!  The record for “The most people breaking pine boards simultaneously in a single location” currently stands at 204 people. We know the GKR Karate family can do much better than that and we want you to be a part of it!  All it takes is for you to register and pay a $20 registration fee.  You will receive a Certificate of Achievement for the World Record, some great photo opportunities and the memory of a lifetime!  Entrants are required to be 5 foot (152cm’s) and weigh at least 50kgs.  You can also sponsor extra boards for $20 per board with all profits raised going to the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse for cancer research.

Once you’ve booked to compete in the 9th GKR Karate World Cup, ordered your jacket, registered to be a part of history and booked your hotel, don’t forget; every competitor needs support!  Remember to bring your fans to share your glory in the biggest event on the GKR Karate calendar for 2017.
